Invited to try Wild Boar back to back with Driven Pheasant Shooting. This is my French Adventure! Two firsts for me, wild boar shooting and pheasant shooting in France. I am without a doubt a very occasional rifle shooter and it was with great trepidation that I set off to France with Mark Winser and my cameraman to experience my first Driven Boar shooting.
Although not in the midst of it I did get a couple of chances, but missed! Now I have to go back and do it all again. I cannot wait. It was such an adrenaline rush! The pheasant shooting was certainly different as they do make a lot more noise when beating than in the UK.
But as you will see there is some fantastic shooting to be had. Watch closely on the second drive as I shoot 3 birds on the trot estimated by the other guns of 75-85 yards. I hope you enjoy the film and perhaps one day try this unusual mix of wild boar and pheasant shooting.
